Jenkins UnsatisfiedLinkError - libXext.so.6

JMeter builds started failing since Feb 22 with

Uncaught Exception java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:
/home/hudson/tools/java/jdk1.6.0_27-32/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so:
libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory.

See for example:

https://builds.apache.org/job/JMeter-trunk/2930/console

I think that was about the time the compilers were updated.
Perhaps something went wrong with the installation?

Please could someone take a look?
Thanks

Note that JMeter builds fine on ubuntu1, but fails on ubuntu2,3,5.
