Summary: JKMount case sensivity
Product: Tomcat 5
Version: Unknown
Platform: All
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Connector:AJP
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: stevens@electricalscience.com
It appears that starting with JK 1.2.8, the JKMount directive became case
insensitive. Thus, I cannot simultaneously have Tomcat webapps named "/foo"
and "/FOO" and connect them to Apache (on Unix).
The relevant code appears to be the function "jk_map_put" in the file
jk/native/common/jk_map.c . There is a call to "strcasecmp" which used to
be "strcmp" in version JK 1.2.6.
I am wondering if this case insensitivity is a bug or a feature? It seems to
me that case insensitivity is correct on Windows and incorrect on Unix. Either
way, should be documented or fixed!!

Fixed in the SVN.
Not may use something like that, but since it follows the servlet spec,
we must implement it.

------- Additional Comments From wrowe@apache.org 2006-07-20 22:33 -------
URI strings *are* case sensitive and this change actually introduces many
potential security flaws in most user's old httpd.conf files. It should most
definately be reverted, and an alternate JkMountMatch or JkMountCaseInsensitive
option to do regex/case insensivite mounts added to provide this dubious "feature"
