RE: Zookeeper behind load balancer

Hi ZooKeeper Dev Team,

Regarding https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-451 do you have any details how it will work?

In our environment it would essential to be able to enforce quotas in a way to protect the server from rogue applications creating too many znodes of which data added up would lead to out of memory exceptions.

Many thanks,
Seb

Hi Toader,
We havent come up with a proposal on how to enforce it, but we might have
to change the create/set api which will return an exception saying quota
exceeded and will fail in case the quota exceeds. This should be easy to do
but might have to be a configuration wherein quote exceptions are not thrown
in case the configuration is not there (this would be for backwards
compatibility and for any urgent operations control).

Thanks
mahadev
