tapestry-blank.war

Howard M. Lewis Ship closed TAP5-186.
-------------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
Maven is the way to go, I'm afraid. It would be nice to have a Gradle template (do those exist yet?) or a Roo integration as well.

> The maven archetype is a great possibility to learn Tapestry for users who are familiar with Maven.
> But there is no possibility to start Tapestry app in an easy way for people not using Maven.
> It would be great to have something like tapestry-blank.war which one could drop into Tomcat and start to learn Tap.
> I think it would be enough to provide the result of the archetype for every release and to make it available on the homepage.
> I strongly believe that such war file would make a lot of people overcome their inhibitions to use Tapestry.
> Otherwise the maven antipathy results in a Tapestry antipathy for a certain group of developers.
