[nested diagnostic context] NDC from empty to null

Hi everyone,

 

I’m hitting some slight trouble with the latest version of log4j.
Previously, with the 1.2.15 version, I used to have an empty string for an
empty context (“CTX= “) and now, I get a null (“CTX=null”). 

 

Is this a wanted evolution linked to the new version or a collateral damage
? 

 

I am updating a statistics module based on the logs from our engine, and
this small difference has a big impact.
