Really? Whenever I dare to remember the times when "source control" ment "count the number of underscores prepended to the backup files to determine the revision" it's like falling in a deep pitch-black abbyss. I'd say that source control saved me from insanity.

Clearly you have never used SCCS, PVCS or Visual Source Safe.
