[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-16435) Add Request timeout to Http2SolrClient

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-16435?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=18039404#comment-18039404 ]

David Smiley commented on SOLR-16435:
-------------------------------------

It's debatable why there's even a request timeout that is applied (by default) in the first place. Our Apache HttpClient based HttpSolrClient has none. Streaming / long-lived usages obviously face problems with such timeouts.

> As of now, the request timeout is always set to the connection idle timeout. Users may want to set a lower value to timeout the requests, and keep the connection idleTimeout value higher.
