[jira] Created: (HADOOP-510) mapred.jar property in a job configuration file handles only absolute path into the local file system

mapred.jar property in a job configuration file handles only absolute path into the local file system
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HADOOP-510
                 URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-510
             Project: Hadoop
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: mapred
    Affects Versions: 0.5.0
            Reporter: Thomas FRIOL

Why does this property does not handle URL ?
I think it could be more comfortable to specify the URL of a jar instead of an absolute path in the local file system.
It also could be great to be able to specify a path relative to the job configuration file.

WDYT ?
