Apache poi created file size is not parsable by apache poi api

I am writing an excel file using apache poi api .But again when i am going to
read the data of the same excel file by using apache poi api.The file seems
to be not parsable .I am using excel import plugin of the grails for reading
the excel file data.If i copy the same data and making a new excel file with
the same data the file size increases and the file is parsable .
