[users@httpd] Shared core (httpd.so) in Apache 2.0?

In Apache 1.3 it was possible to build the server with "shared core"
support,
that is, it built the library libhttpd.so (or httpd.so, I forget
which).  Is this
still possible in Apache 2.0 and if so what are the config directives
needed
to make this happen?
