re: controller.begin is not being called

I have recently changed my webapp to not use .jws, .jpf or .jpfs, but
now the begin method in my controller is not being called.

I am curious why it worked properly when it was a .jpf but not as a java
file.

I am going to guess I need to put something in the web.xml file, but I
don't know, since I would assume that when I compiled everything that it
should have been dealt with.

If I go to login.jsp then I can login, and then everything works fine,
and the controller is called for processing forms and dealing with page
flow.
