We are discussiong adding a new dependency for the Jakarta JSON support ( Eclipse Parsson ) that requires Java 9 or newer ( see https://lists.apache.org/thread/2p9jx4ybpkogpkf9wdy97kv8lkzrsg0r )

The upcoming Jackrabbit Oak 1.50 release will also require Java 11.

We should consider dropping Java 8 support as well, otherwise we'll be stuck on old dependencies.
