[jira] [Commented] (ZEST-8) Filing of Software Grants

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEST-8?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14555395#comment-14555395 ]

Niclas Hedhman commented on ZEST-8:
-----------------------------------

Note to PMC; I have gone through Richard Wallace's contributions, dating to 2008, by examining commit mails and Jira issues.
Richard sent in two patches, in QI-94 and QI-95 to correct bugs he had located, created test and correction for. This affected 7 files in the query and http subsystems, and quite small number of lines, albeit important bugs squashed.

My conclusion is that Richard doesn't need to send in a Software Grant

> Filing of Software Grants
> -------------------------
>
> Key: ZEST-8
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEST-8
> Project: Zest
> Issue Type: Sub-task
> Reporter: Niclas Hedhman
>
> It is not totally clear who needs to submit a Software Grant to ASF. Since Qi4j was running without an organization, and every commit was an explicit act of giving an Apache License to all future users, that should cover ASF's needs.
> Scanning for the "Copyright" in files and looking at GitHub history, the following people have contributed (not counting testcases).
> [C] Alin Dreghiciu
> [C] Edward Yakop
> [ ] Kent Sølvsten
> [ ] Marc Grue
> [ ] Michael Hunger
> [C] Niclas Hedhman
> [S] Paul Merlin
> [S] Rickard Öberg
> [C] Sonny Gill
> [ ] Stanislav Muhametsin
> [C] Tonny Kohar.
> Of these, Alin, Edward, Sonny and Tonny were making those contributions as employees of CodeDragons at that time. CodeDragons still exists, and I will sign a Software Grant on behalf of these 4 people, to make it easier. If we can't reach all the remaining, we should consider taking out the contribution or re-writing it.
> Important is that
> Niclas, Rickard, Paul, Stan and Marc sends in a Software Grant to the secretary@apache.org, as that is practically all code covered.
> On the "Representing" in the software grant form, put "My personal contributions to Qi4j.org project".
> Contact Name and Email is yourself, as is "Print Name"
> See https://www.apache.org/licenses/software-grant.txt
> Legend;
> [ ] : Not yet
> [S] : Sent in (according to individual)
> [R] : Recorded by secretary@
> [C] : Covered by CodeDragons' software grant and action not needed.
