pipe bucket anyone?
Is anybody actually working on pipe buckets (has actual code and/or
intention to do it in next 48 hours)?
If nobody is, I'll work on it, but with all the energy surrounding the
initial filtering work I find it hard to believe that the smart folks
aren't jumping all over pipe buckets and all the other fun tasks
associated with filtering.

Working on it. should have working code in a day or two. The first
problem seems to be a more abstract memory allocation scheme, which allows
us to malloc and free memory without using pools, but still using a
pool-like interface. This solves the problem of not being able to free
the memory allocated out of a NULL pool. I should have that in an hour or
so, then the pipes will be finished.
