> File format in case of Iceberg tables can be defined with tblproperty 'write.format.default'. This used to be set by 'iceberg.file_format' which is still supported for backward compatibility. It should implement the same functionality. However, this is not the case. Currently, anything can be set with 'iceberg.file_format' , but the files will be stored in Parquet regardless of what the user set. Even if the given file format is supported, the fallback to the default Parquet is done without any feedback, and there is no error message either, when the chosen file format is not supported.
> Impala should support 'iceberg.file.format' property to do exactly what 'write.format.default' does.
