New Nutch install, problems with the JAVA_HOME

This is my first Nutch install. I installed the latest version of Nutch
(0.9), Cygwin, and Tomcat (6.0). I also have the following for Java:

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_06
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6

I went in the Windows CP to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable and used
all of them as variables, and I still get the JAVA_HOME not set message in
the log.

I should add that the bin/nutch command didn't work until I used the d2u
command first.

I'm still new at this, so I probably screwed up something really simple like
the way I entered the JAVA_HOME...

BTW I did go through several tutorials that ask to use specific versions of
Java/Tomcat, but I came across an article in which the author stated that
the newer Java versions still work.

Thanks a lot

Cheers
