Kevin Risden commented on SOLR-8826:
------------------------------------

Using the OpenLink ODBC-JDBC driver with Mac and Windows seems to work. I have some details here: https://github.com/risdenk/solrj-jdbc-testing/blob/master/odbc/README.md

Not sure if makes sense to plug an specific ODBC-JDBC bridge companies in the official Solr documentation. Here are the generic steps:

1. Setup ODBC-JDBC bridge according to vendor instructions
2. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/solr/Parallel+SQL+Interface#ParallelSQLInterface-Generic

> Integrating SolrJ JDBC with an ODBC-JDBC bridge will use useful for software like Excel/Tableau/etc. This should be documented on how to set it up.
