[jira] [Created] (IGNITE-22817) Sql. Align rule of conversion between numerics
Konstantin Orlov created IGNITE-22817:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Sql. Align rule of conversion between numerics
Key: IGNITE-22817
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-22817
Project: Ignite
Issue Type: Bug
Components: sql
Reporter: Konstantin Orlov
Assignee: Konstantin Orlov
Class {{IgniteMath}} contains set of methods to do conversion from one numeric to another with bound check. The problem is that rules of bound check differs from one type pair to another: some pairs has strict rules, some pairs allow to have decimal part of arbitrary size, some pairs do bound check after rounding initial value with HALF UP strategy.
We need to make bound check consistent for all type pairs. Since we are going to truncate decimal part during conversion to. integers, it's suggested to do bound check accordingly.
