[Bug 58691] New: org.apache.naming.ResourceEnvRef missing factory
https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=58691
Bug ID: 58691
Summary: org.apache.naming.ResourceEnvRef missing factory
Product: Tomcat 8
Version: 8.0.29
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Catalina
Assignee: dev@tomcat.apache.org
Reporter: proske.paul@googlemail.com
Since Tomcat 8 the "factory" attribute in the "Resource" definition is not more
used for org.apache.naming.ResourceEnvRef.
Our latest application work with this attribute.
For us the update to Tomcat 8 will fail now.
I think this is a mistake (Bug).
Please fix this in the next version.
Best regards
Paul

--- Comment #1 from Mark Thomas <ma...@apache.org> ---
Testing with this example:
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-9.0-doc/jndi-resources-howto.html#Adding_Custom_Resource_Factories
shows that this is working (once the typos in the example are fixed).
