Seems there is no /usr/conf on my machine. Are you using 0.9.1 rpm?

I actually built pig from 0.9 branch using the instructions on the wiki and that rpm has /usr/conf where as the 0.9.1 released rpm does not.

Seems my rpm does not show the same issue. Can you try http://people.apache.org/~daijy/pig-0.9.2-candidate-0/pig-0.9.2-1.i386.rpm?

Daniel you are right i will have to look into why rpm's i am building have data in /usr/conf

I am following the instructions here https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/PIG/HowToRelease and building both tar balls and rpm's. May be the tar ball conf dir is being picked up when rpm's are being built. Not sure will investigate.
