           Summary: Build problem using gcj - includes fix
           Product: Batik
           Version: 1.7
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Utilities
        AssignedTo: batik-dev@xmlgraphics.apache.org
        ReportedBy: onkarshinde@gmail.com

Batik 1.7 beta 1 doesn't build when using gcj 4.2 (tried on Ubuntu).

The problem lies in build.xml. The exclude expression for excluding certain
transcoders (which depend on Sun specific API) is not correct.

Please replace (line 673)

      <exclude name="${src}/${package-prefix}/ext/awt/image/codec/jpeg/*"
               unless="sun-codecs.present"/>

with

      <exclude name="${package-prefix}/ext/awt/image/codec/jpeg/*"
               unless="sun-codecs.present"/>
      <exclude name="${package-prefix}/ext/awt/image/codec/tiff/*"
               unless="sun-codecs.present"/>

Hi Cameron,

The exclude expression itself is wrong. ${src} should be omitted from the
expression since it is already specified as source path. This problem is present
in SVN also. Please correct it and it will compile. I have verified with 1.7
beta 1 and SVN.

Hi Onkar.

Current SVN code does include this exclusion in the build file. Please do
report back on your experiences compiling with gcj/classpath (which I think
still doesn't completely work).
