[users@httpd] Problem compiling 2.0.49 with perchild MPM on Solaris 9

Hi

have recently compiled 2.0.49 with the following options:

--disable-ipv6"
"--with-mpm=perchild"
"--enable-modules=most"
"--enable-access=static"
"--enable-mime=static"

The compile initialy failed when compiling perchild.c , complaining that the
msghdr struct did not have the msg_control element.

Had a look round on the web and found that someone had got round this
problem by adding
#define _XPG4_2 1
at the top of perchild.c ( as there is an #ifdef on this variable in
socket.h at the point where msg_control is defined as a member of msghdr ).
and then commenting out line 77 of signal.h ( extern int sigsendset ... ).

This works and everything compiles but I'm a bit concerned at having to
modify system header files ( /usr/include/signal.h ) in order to get httpd
compiled.
Does anyone know if there is a better way of doing this ( i.e. making
chnages to apache src files only )?

thanks

tim

Did you read the docs on perchild? They tell you not to use it unless you
are willing to hack the code.

Joshua.
