[jira] [Commented] (YARN-4525) Bug in RLESparseResourceAllocation.getRangeOverlapping(...)

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-4525?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15309040#comment-15309040 ]

Carlo Curino commented on YARN-4525:
------------------------------------

It is hard to construct a simple test (it depends on various subMaps invocations I guess). But as part of YARN-5164 I am have a test {{TestCapacityOvertimePolicy.testFailAvgBySum()}} that positively triggers this bug.

> One of our tests detected a corner case in getRangeOverlapping: When the RLESparseResourceAllocation object is a result of a merge operation, the underlying map is a "view" within some range. If 'end' is outside that range, headMap(..) throws an uncaught exception.
