POM fixup and auditing

We had a discussion a few weeks back on POM fixup. I have a couple of
follow on questions


1. Is there a roadmap for the maven tasks to do some refresh or
polling of non-SNAPSHOT POMs, or perhaps some background program could
take on the task? I could do something in ant :)


2. Is there a place in the m2 POM for an audit hint in there. I'm
thinking of an author/hostname/timestamp field, which we can autofill
in from ant properties at build time. Otherwise I'll just abuse the
description element.
