[VOTE] Release of Apache Directory Server 2.0.0-M3

Hi,

This is a vote for the third milestone of the 2.0 Apache Directory Server.

ADS-2.0.0-M3 contains some very important fixes. The JDBM partition now deal correctly with concurrent access, and we have fixed some big issues in the replication subsystem.

Fixed issues :
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1646 :Locale problem on startup (Apache DS 2.0.0-M2) <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1646>
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1653 :using read() of ObjectInputStream while deserializing ReplicaEventMessage causes random failures <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1653>
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1652 :filtering attributes against oid and not against the name <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1652>
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1642 :Unexpected behaviour in JdbmIndex <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1642>

The SVN tag:
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/directory/apacheds/tags/2.0.0-M3 (Revision 1165372)

The source and binary distribution packages, plus the installers:
http://people.apache.org/~elecharny/

The staging repository:
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachedirectory-029/

The generated site:
http://directory.apache.org/apacheds/gen-docs/2.0.0-M3

Please cast your votes:
[ ] +1 Release Apache Directory Server 2.0.0-M3
[ ] 0 abstain
[ ] -1 Do not release Apache Directory Server 2.0.0-M3

We are perfectly aware about the poor quality of the documentation.

The current releases are milestones, and our target is to freeze the
APIs, in order to be able to make the server something else than a
moving target. It's extremely frustrating for those who write the
documentation to work on something that changes every month.

However, we are working on the documentation for ADS 2.0 too :

Really sorry...

I don't feel qualified to vote on this but please look at improving the documentation before many more releases of Directory Server. The web pages refer to the manual for version 1.0. My personal interest is in embedding DS in an application and the information on that is minimal.

Damn it !

My bad, I forget to check the scripts while looking for the removed
class, as I did a search on .java classes only, not .sh or .bat :/

Ok, I'll cancel the vote...

OTOH, it let us the opportunity to fix the two serious issues Selcuk
just found in the replication.

changing my vote to -1 , the server can't be started cause scripts
included in installers refer to a class which was removed a while
back.
Have already fixed the scripts and committed them. Sorry for the pain.

Hi !

sadly, I have to cancel this vote, the installers are referring a
removed class...

I'll process a new release later today or tomorrow.

Hi Emmanuel,

Just noticed something minor before reviewing installers, signatures and sources.

This release does not use the TLP Project pom 23 you just released yesterday.
Very minor given so few modifications (a simple version bump for the release plugin) but still worth mentioning...

I'm reviewing the release now.
