steve, if the functionality you're looking for is sitting in TimeMention right now, i'd use that.
i think DateTime might be confusing, unless we were and putting _everything_ into DateTime (i.e., deleting everything else Date* or Time* from the type system).

can you finish the SHARPKnowtatorXMLReader (CTAKES-69) with TimeMention?
