Berkeley DB Embeded service engine

I am thinking about the idea of SE for embeded Berkeley DB in servicemix
inline with other in-built service engines (drools, bpe etc). I am not sure
how feasible/complex it would be to write a SE which wraps the Berkeley DB
Apis. Is there any work happened in this area?

Please let me know your views.

Yeah, I am aware of the lightweight JDBC component. JDBC BC would not
help as Berkely DB does not support SQL/JDBC.This would be a component
very specific to Berkely DB using its API. I will go through the source
distribution and dev docs and put my thoughts in this forum.

Regarding JDBC and SQL, I would also be good to see a JDBC BC and SQL SE
added aswell.

Rabi,

As far as I know, there is some kind of a preliminary JdbcComponent
available in ServiceMix, but there's no really complete JDBC BC. There
certainly is no SE that uses the Berkeley DB API directly. If you want
to add this feature to ServiceMix, we'll be happy to help you getting
started...
