Re: [EXTERNAL] Re: superset integration with any web application

Hi Max,

Thanks for the details. What is the short-term from project timeline perspective? 3-6 months? I am excited about React + supersetbackend pattern.

I'd say that we're limited to <iframes/> at the moment. Originally Superset
was built as a standalone product. You can do quite a bit with iFrames, but
I understand it doesn't work in all cases.

The vision for the [short-term] future is to ship a set of React components
that would assume that a Superset backend is available. One of the props of
these React component would be the `supersetBackendDomain`. This is very
different to other data visualization library where you have to query your
data source on your own and somehow craft the exact data structure the
javascript object needs to operate. That process is hard and Superset
already know how to do all this...

When using a Superset component (that assumes can speak with your existing
Superset backend), you'll be able to embed interactive visualizations to
your application with a few lines of code. You can picture that you could
reference a sliceId, but override some of the controls' value externally,
or you could embed a subset of the "Explore View" with only a subset of the
    left panel's controls.
