Installing Cocoon with ServletExec2.2 and JDK1.1.7A

I have just tried to compile Cocoon.java and it fails not recognising getUrl() method. I have jdk1.1.7A which having looked at the documentation doesnt have this method.  Am I wasting my time with this JDK.
