[Issue 125514] New: a chart copied onto the same sheet does not have
the option to change the DataRange
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125514
Issue ID: 125514
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: a chart copied onto the same sheet does not have the
option to change the DataRange
Product: Calc
Version: 4.1.0
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 8
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P3
Component: editing
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: nbsd4ever@gmail.com
This bug has been described elsewhere:
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/4074/how-do-i-change-the-source-d
ata-range-for-duplicated-charts-in-calc-35/
If you copy a chart, it is not possible to change the Data Range of the
copied chart. If you attempt to edit the copied chart to change the data
for that chart, the Data Range option is no longer listed. Instead there
is a Data Table option which makes it impossible to use a single format
for a chart with many different complex data sets on the same sheet.

Thank you for reporting a bug, to make OpenOffice better. There is indeed a
problem with copying charts. We track it already in bug 122897. There you will
find two solutions to get a copy, in short: (1) Use drag-drop (2) use
Navigator. Please read details in the bug 122897.
*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 122897 ***
