Objet : [users@httpd] Critical Error follow up.
Home pc user with running XP home:
So I was the person who tried to manually delete apache and no uninstall
it.
Well I reinstalled it, uninstalled it, repaired it, everything under the
sun.
There still is a file some where in doss thinking apache is there.
When I reinstall it and it gets up and running... the apache homepage
...successful install page doesn't load. Nothing loads up.
Help I need to remove all records of apache from dos and everywhere and
get a fully clean un-install.
Or I need to figure a way to get this reconfigured properly.
thanks for any suggestions

Perhaps letting the Apache MSI file do it.
Try downloading the same Apache.msi
file and use the MSI repair commands.
If one wants to uninstall an MSI file,
repair, or reinstall:
Repair is /f
d = Reinstall if a file is missing, or
a different version is installed
msiexec.exe /fd "C:\full path to\whatever.msi"
e = Reinstall if a file is missing,or
an earlier or equal version is
installed.
msiexec.exe /fe "C:\full path to\whatever.msi"
Uninstall /x
msiexec.exe /x "C:\full path to\whatever.msi"
Windows Installer from the command line

Windows Scripting with VBScript scripts.
Adjust the scripts to your needs, then save
the VBScript script file to any folder. Then
in a command prompt window set to the
VBScript script's folder, use the Windows
Script Host (WSH) engine cscript.exe
by typing:
cscript.exe VBScriptFileName.vbs
Remember one can also use the script
language of your desire with the Windows
Script Host (WMI) engines.
What happens when you run the following
VBScript via the built-in Windows Script Host
engine named cscript.exe?
'*** Start of script.
On Error Resume Next
strComputer = "."
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _
& "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" _
& strComputer & "\root\cimv2")
Set colSoftware = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
("Select * from Win32_Product")
For Each objSoftware in colSoftware
If InStr(1, objSoftware.Name, "Apache", 1) <> 0 Then
Wscript.Echo vbCrlF & objSoftware.Name
Wscript.Echo objSoftware.PackageCache
End If
Next
'*** End of script.
Output should be something like:
Apache HTTP Server 2.0.47
C:\WINDOWS\Installer\18d657.msi
Apache HTTP Server 1.3.26
C:\WINDOWS\Installer\b65aef.msi
Try these files with repair or uninstall.
The above demo script was adjusted from:

How would I delete something from the registry?
When I am doing a search using windows search all files and folders these
files show up.
The ones highlighted in gray:
http://server4.uploadit.org/files/031203-apachefiles.JPG
would those be the ones that are causing the problem?
