[jira] [Commented] (RATIS-463) Basic Distributed Test Harness for
Ratis
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RATIS-463?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16726367#comment-16726367 ]
Clay B. commented on RATIS-463:
-------------------------------
One issue I have hit while playing with Ratis and load generators in the past is unexpectedly running my laptop out of memory and/or space by mis-specifying settings to my tests. I found using VMs to be a helpful way to not wedge my development system; the test harness should ideally ensure the test is bounded in resources the environment will use from those past experiences.

> We now have a load generator in RATIS-456 which can exercise Ratis. It would be good to have a basic known way to spin-up a distributed Ratis cluster and hammer it to ensure that basic performance and reliability can be achieved.
