[~balakuntala] I am not sure if this issue is still a valid open issue as the recovery code was refactored a while back.
If you are looking for new issues to start looking at and helping out on, I would suggest reaching out to [~jeagles] who may have a better handle on the current set of open areas that need help (as I have been a bit out of touch with the tez codebase in recent times).
