Mail Transport support for Axis2/c - only SOAP 1.2
hi all,
Currently Axis2/Java support SOAP 1.2 and 1.1. But for Axis2/C mail
transport I only consider SOAP 1.2.
So I ignored SOAP 1.1 and REST in my implementation. May be we can extend
this to SOAP 1.1 and for REST invocations in future.
Thanks
Rajika

Hi,
There is a well defined Email Binding for SOAP 1.2[1]. But Axis2/Java Mail
Transport implemented the specification found here[2]. The method described
in [2] ensures that the SOAP message will not modify and/or scan by the Spam
filters etc since it is a base64 encoded MIME attachment. I mean there is no
such an specification for SOAP 1.1. The specification found [3] , add the
SOAP message as a plain text message.
Thanks in advance.
Rajika

I think this spec [1] is for SOAP 1.1

hello everybody,
First I made a mistake saying that Axis2/Java Mail Transport support SOAP
1.1. There is some effort but it is not still done. The E-Mail binding for
SOAP is defined for SOAP 1.2 in the specification [1]. There is no such
specification for SOAP 1.1. That's why I limit my implementation to SOAP 1.2
.

I too agree that SOAP 1.1 support is preliminary and mandatory.

Hi Rajika,
Is there any particular reason that you ignored SOAP 1.1 ? IMHO SOAP
1.1 also important and hence ignoring that portion is not quite
convincing to me.
Thanks
