while (prev_slotnum < field_slotnum) // break if prev after field
{
if (next_dup == NULL)
break; // no next dup, we're done
if (next_slotnum > field_slotnum)
break; // next dup is after us, we're done
prev_dup = next_dup;
prev_slotnum = next_slotnum;
next_dup = prev_dup->m_next_dup;
}
in while loop above, next_slotnum is not recomputed.
