Problems running crawl with cygwin, JAVA_HOME not set

Yeah guys, i'm stuck at the index part, I need some help, I'm able to put the
program to run alright, then I run cygwin to use crawl, i run the command
"bin/nutch crawl urls -dir crawl -depth 3 >& crawl.log" and it creates a
crawl.log only, not the directory, and the log has the message "JAVA_HOME
not set".

The problem is the I already set the JAVA_HOME using the commands
"JAVA_HOME=[javadir]", "NUTCH_JAVA_HOME=[javadir]", I set the path, I used
the windows and linux versions of java, and nothing, absolutely nothing,
same error, over and over again.

I appreciate all the help.

Goethe.

Thanks that solved my problem, for those with similar problems, I took the
steps below:

Para visualizar ou alterar variáveis de ambiente:

Did you set it from the command line or from your Environment Variables in
Windows?

If you don't set your environment variables it won't work. Pre-WINNT I
believe you have to restart the comp as well.
