fetch-from-cvs-script revisited

Regarding Doug MacEacherns script at
http://dev.apache.org/fetch-from-cvs.txt
I would propose that it is replaced with this changed version.
I now works (as the directory structure, link names etc has changed)
again. It also features easy change of version.

I was simply suggesting one that could be put up as well as
yours.

My point was that the one that resides on dev.apache.org DOESN'T WORK.
THIS DO. It does exactly what dougs original script did before
directories, links and names changed.
At least put this corrected one up, please.
Someone who has taz-access, that is.

I've written a simpler shell script to fetch it. Note that
the script from dev.apache.org seems not to work properly for me
(I'll try the new version in a minute). I'm aware it's not
absolutely portable due to lynx and fetch, but here's what I've
written:
-------------------------------------------------------
#!/bin/sh
# a script to download the latest apache snapshot
lynx -dump http://dev.apache.org/from-cvs/apache-1.3/ |
tail -1 |
sed 's/^[ 0-9]*\. //g' |
xargs fetch

Rsync is wonderful.
There is also <http://www.apache.org/websrc/cvsweb.cgi>.

Not at the moment, but there is an rsync server at dev.apache.org.
rsync dev.apache.org::
to get a listing of the modules and:
rsync -avz dev.apache.org::module-name local-directory-name
to grab the sources or update them.

Anoncvs / Read-Only cvs access
Posted by Peter Andreasen <pa...@pandr.dk>.
Hello, everyone.
Is there a read-only cvs access to the newest apache source? The document
http://dev.apache.org/anoncvs.txt mentions
:pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.apache.worldgate.com:/cvs, but it doesn't seem to
work (getting connection refused, for a couple of days now).
I know there are daily tarballs pulled from the cvs, but using those makes
it a bit harder to follow development.
Regards,
