Making progress on the new Tree component
I am making some progress on the new Tree component. It is very rough
but there is enough there so that you can play with various
configurations and types of trees.
It only works on the server side right now (no javascript to open
nodes yet.) It turns out that it is easier to start with this and add
the javascript stuff later. You can configure different sections of
the tree etc. You can put whatever you want inside your nodes text,
checkboxes, text inputs, etc.
Validation and actions should all work as well so this is pretty
powerful stuff even if it doesn't look pretty yet. I could use some
help testing (particularly validation and putting different components
inside the tree.)
I am thinking that I supply a mini war file to the list that has just
a simple example and mini jar file with just the new tree stuff. I am
making major changes to the source code so I don't want to check in to
the trunk. We could always create a branch in CVS but I think that
might be overkill.
If I post the war file would people be interested? I'm not going to
bother unless I get some takers.

I would be interested in giving it a try also. The javascript for it
is really easy, so I'm not worried about having that right away.
Let's get settled on a JSP API first.
I'll check it out next week, this weekend I'm doing Mardi Gras in St. Louis.

Well I am making faster progress than I thought. I will email to the
list since you (and probably others are interested.) It is in the
early stages still but there is enough there to test and get the idea.
I need to generate a decent example first. I will write one
tonight/tomorrow and post soon.

Hello Sean:
If there is some complaint, please email me your war file. I will test
it. (I thought it is available at the end of next week?)
Thanks
