[jira] [Commented] (PROTON-1900) Enabling the proton logs from a
daemon process
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PROTON-1900?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16563844#comment-16563844 ]
Alan Conway commented on PROTON-1900:
-------------------------------------
We do intend to provide a proper API for C++ logging. As a short term workaround, I have attached a Horrible HackĀ [^log_hack.cpp] to use the underlying C library to do it. It is quite horrible, but should work until we have a better C++ API. We will update this Jira as we make progress on that.

> Is there a way to enable the proton logs from a daemon process.
> As of now, we are able to get the proton logs from PN_TRACE_FRM and other environment variables for non-daemon process.
> We looked into the proton library specially the CPP binding and could not find any specific API's. We are using the proton version 0.16.
> It would be very helpful if we can get the logs from a daemon process.
> Thanks.
