Can anybody tell why HTML is used instead of XHTML for the doctype?
Have there been any problems (because it's commented out)?
Because of this, self-closing elements like <br /> are replaced with <br> and therefore ecommerce pages don't validate against W3C.

This is the default http://elrte.org/redmine/projects/elrte/wiki/Docs_EN. I remember having read something about that, but can't
reminder what :/
I think you can safely use another doctype, but never tried...
