[jira] [Commented] (HTRACE-331) create git tags for 4.0 and 4.0.1 releases

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HTRACE-331?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15056187#comment-15056187 ]

Colin Patrick McCabe commented on HTRACE-331:
---------------------------------------------

I think part of the reason we didn't create a 4.0 tag was that having both a tag and a branch named "4.0" caused ambiguities in git, which was annoying. Perhaps we should create "4.0-release" and "4.0.1-release" tags instead?
