I agree too. About this page, I think we can remove all the old steps and maybe move the rest above in another new page?

Can you just get rid of the obsolete stuff.
If anything is lost, it can be retrieved from the old revision
If anyone wants to see an old version of the page it is easily found.

Let's be a bit ruthless in getting rid of old stuff that just confuses
the situation.

I have added a new section (with title "Release Management Guide") with my
notes about all the steps required to do a release:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBADMIN/Release+Plan

I didn't touch the other parts of the document but in my opinion most of
them could be removed now.

I thought that's what you thought (I remember your entries about through vs thru and had then the curiosity to look at it), it also implies Jacopo
would not spot it ;)

Anyway all that is more a joke, even if of course it's reassuring to have serious English reviewers. I will follow your changes, I'm sure I will learn
something.

BTW, some time ago, Paul Piper suggested me to read http://www.amazon.com/The-Mother-Tongue-English-That/dp/0380715430 and I found it quite
interesting, though sometimes a little verbose.
I notably learnt/learned there that there is not something like the "Académie Française" for the English tongue.
I liked the explanation (roughly the English world is more liberal). Still some controversies about the French language are sometimes deliciously out
of fashion.

Fun isn't ?

I don't follow any particular document for the release steps but I will definitely find some time to review that one and possibly update it.

Thanks Jacopo!

BTW, I know you prefer to do the release management yourself, but in case, are the information there still up to date?

Else I guess we should update them and make this page more official. Or maybe there is a more accurate document I'm not aware of?
