[VOTE] Release Mahout 0.4
A release candidate for Mahout 0.4 is available at
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachemahout-002/.
This vote will be open for the usual 72 hours.
Here is my initial +1.

Any of the 'src' archives in
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachemahout-002/org/apache/mahout/mahout-distribution/0.4/
Should be roughly equivalent to the base source directory checked out
from trunk.

Yup that's what I'm double-checking now. The signatures are fine. Going to
unpack and run tests now.

I'll give it a whirl.

If we decide to respin, I suggest applying MAHOUT-532.

The binary distributions, such as those in
mahout-distribution-0.4.tar.bz2, do not include the mahout-collections
jar, running the mahout script in standalone mode (with no HADOOP_HOME
set) will run into problems as a result.
The current release build assumes that the collections project is
under the root project and part of the main build instead of being
treated as a separate build. It's a simple enough fix, trying it out
now.

Erk! Does this mean I lost my trunk - again? LOL

I should add thanks and kudos to you and Sean for wading through the
swamp of small glitches you encountered in the release process. Had I
been more involved in that I would have known where to find the gold.

Thanks Benson,
I found it and it unpacks and builds successfully. I'm running some jobs
on my cluster right now.

I don't understand the question, maybe. If I told you to concentrate
on https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachemahout-002/org/apache/mahout/mahout-distribution/0.4/
would that help? That's where the release bundles land.

There's a lot of files here. Which one has the equivalent of trunk in it?

Thanks a lot Benson. I have verified the sigs, verified the archives,
verified it builds, and spot-checked the contents. Looking good to me.
