Cocoon newbie

I need help getting started with Cocoon.

I am running RedHat 6.1. Can anybody save me some time and recommend
which release of Cocoon, Xalan, Xerces, etc. I should use. Is it best to
use the CVS release. Any other setup suggestions would be great. 

Send them to me directly and I will recap all answers later for the
list.
