DO NOT REPLY [Bug 47030] New: mod_unique_id causing apache to crash

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=47030

Summary: mod_unique_id causing apache to crash
           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.0.54
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: mod_unique_id
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: stelio@skyrove.com

Apache crashes when performing a postgres vacuum while server load is over 6.

[alert] (EAI 2)Name or service not known: mod_unique_id: unable to find IPv4
address of "xxx.yyy.co.za"

When apache has crashed i'm unable to resolve xxx.yyy.co.za from the same
server.

I can not disable the module as it's a dependency for mod_security.

mod_unique_id relies on being able to find out the IP address of the server, so
you need to either fix your name resolution to be reliable, or stop using
mod_unique_id.
