how do I add a huge amount of data to a template file?

Hi all,
I am reading an XML file and formatting it to display it by inserting into a template and my servlet outputting the merged template to the Browser. 
<html>
    $xmlstructure
</html>
If my XML file is huge (5MB) i need to serially access the contents of the file and show the data. How can i add in the data element by element so that the page can display the contents of the XML file as they get ready...

</html>
