Issue getting consumer and producer metrics

Hi,

I am currently using Kafka to generate and look at metrics using graphite. However, I am having trouble accessing the beans for consumer and producer domains. Below is a list of domains I have available (gathered exposing JMX on a port and using http://wiki.cyclopsgroup.org/jmxterm/ ) .

$>domains

#following domains are available

JMImplementation

com.sun.management

java.lang

java.nio

java.util.logging

kafka

kafka.cluster

kafka.common

kafka.controller

kafka.log

kafka.network

kafka.server

As you can see kafka.consumer and kafka.producer are not present (also reflected when viewing the beans).

Environment: Ubuntu VM running kafka and zookeeper. Followed the steps found here: http://kafka.apache.org/documentation.html#quickstart and have installed https://github.com/airbnb/kafka-statsd-metrics2/ accordingly.

My question is, how do I get access to these domains, is there something that needs to be enabled in a config file? I haven't been able to find much online about how to get access to these, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Tommy Yardley
