Podling Report Reminder - August 2017

Dear podling,

This email was sent by an automated system on behalf of the Apache
Incubator PMC. It is an initial reminder to give you plenty of time to
prepare your quarterly board report.

The board meeting is scheduled for Wed, 16 August 2017, 10:30 am PDT.
The report for your podling will form a part of the Incubator PMC
report. The Incubator PMC requires your report to be submitted 2 weeks
before the board meeting, to allow sufficient time for review and
submission (Wed, August 02).

Please submit your report with sufficient time to allow the Incubator
PMC, and subsequently board members to review and digest. Again, the
very latest you should submit your report is 2 weeks prior to the board
meeting.

Thanks,

The Apache Incubator PMC

Submitting your Report

----------------------

Your report should contain the following:

*   Your project name
* A brief description of your project, which assumes no knowledge of
the project or necessarily of its field
* A list of the three most important issues to address in the move
    towards graduation.
* Any issues that the Incubator PMC or ASF Board might wish/need to be
    aware of
* How has the community developed since the last report
* How has the project developed since the last report.
* How does the podling rate their own maturity.

This should be appended to the Incubator Wiki page at:

https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/August2017

Note: This is manually populated. You may need to wait a little before
this page is created from a template.

Mentors
-------

Mentors should review reports for their project(s) and sign them off on
the Incubator wiki page. Signing off reports shows that you are
following the project - projects that are not signed may raise alarms
for the Incubator PMC.

Tamaya

Tamaya is a highly flexible configuration solution based on an modular,
extensible and injectable key/value based design, which should provide a
minimal but extendible modern and functional API leveraging SE, ME and EE
environments.

Tamaya has been incubating since 2014-11-14.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. Release version 0.3 of Tamaya Core and Extensions
  2. Start a new Howto/blog series about Tamaya and its new features
  3. Use attention of these releases to gather new committers

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

We'd like to graduate soon.

How has the community developed since the last report?

No changes, due to holiday season a slightly lower activity.

How has the project developed since the last report?

Release of Core 0.3 is out, extensions just passed the IPMC approval.

How would you assess the podling's maturity?
Please feel free to add your own commentary.

  [ ] Initial setup
[ ] Working towards first release
  [X] Community building
  [X] Nearing graduation
  [ ] Other:

Date of last release:

  2017-08-01

When were the last committers or PPMC members elected?

P. Ottlinger at 2016-04-24.

In Europe July/August is summer holiday/family time. Sometimes offices even
close their business completely. So quite normal that it is very calm...
We will make much 'noise' as soon as Oliver finished the extensions
release. I plan to do a series of smaller blogs showing various features
and move forward to Java 8. I am positive we get back into lights soon😊

Now that it has 3 +1's on the incubator list, would be good if Oliver can
wrap up that release and mark it as done.

Hi,

I'd love to take of that - main objectives are:

* Release of Tamaya Core 0.3
* Release of Tamaya Extensions 0.3 - work in progress

After the releases are properly approved we will take of the webpage and
publish the results.

Apart from that: vacation and a slightly lower activity.

Any objections?

Thanks,
Phil
