    I can confirm Christoph's observations - same situation for us: pre-commit hook, worked for 2.0-beta-8, works not for 2.0-beta-9.

Entry in release.properties is correct:
scm.commentPrefix=TT-885\: [maven-release-manager]

Yet actual commit message is bogus:
