The below could work as our 'src' package:

MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx3g" mvn install -DskipTests -DdescriptorId=project assembly:assembly
{code}

Its not bad.  Has all src but you can run in-situ too.  Missing the docs and too many libs in lib dir but otherwise, not bad.
